autistic
Anime, LGBTQIA+, Kawaii Culture, Disability & Mental Health
I've been working with my hands & pencils for as long as I can remember, as well as having been a bit of an oddball with nieche interests. My mum and grandma taught me to crochet at 6, I discovered Anime, Visual Kei and the general Alternative Fashion/Kawaii scene at 9, taught myself how to sew at 13 & learned to sew professionally 2017-2020. The love I developed for artisanship & alternative culture has never stopped growing & I love sharing it with others!Another topic I like to represent/normalize is mental health & disabilities. I myself have been unable to finish studying fashion design in my 3rd year because of disability related issues. Hence, it's very near and dear to my heart to make, especially, fellow autistics feel represented & safe at my artist alley booth 💗 My crafts and art have saved me, the best form of showing my appreciation for these things is to share them!I go to cons because I (very autistically, haha) enjoy making the same thing over & over, but do not, you know, need the same plushie 27 times. And since I love going to anime conventions anyway, it's how I enjoy sharing my crafts & arts! If it covers some of my con-going costs along the way, that's great as well. My main motivation however is seeing how people react to something I love doing!
It's for fun, not my job :)
About my Booth
Focussing on quality over quantity, as well as my own budget (since this is just a hobby & I have to spend my own very limited money on materials), my booth cannot consist mainly of clothing.
The garments I make a are one of a kind, mainly using second hand materials. With accessories being smaller, I can usually make and offer more of the same kind. It's sewing and crafting for the love of craftmanship, rather than turning myself into a one-person production line
